Inspiration at its best! This poster "celebrates" the "handing down" of the edict that started conscription in Taiwan (late in the war). Notice the ambivalence in this poster in the form of the unimpressive Taiwanese soldier. It seems that the poster makers could not bear to portray Taiwanese in a manner similar to Japanese. This sort of ethnic prejudice within the Co-Prosperity Sphere was typical.
