Left: Mushroom Gathering Women of the Shōtoku Era. This print was made in 1891, in the manner of 18th-century prints. The Shōtoku era was 1711-1715. Here, a man, most likely a servant, shows a particularly large matsutake mushroom to two women who react who laugh modestly (hands/sleeves over the mouth). Notice the right hand of the second woman.
